Massive oil spillage in Nefteyugansk

Vladivostok, June 29. Ministry of Emergencies workers together with “Yuganskneftegaz” company staff have been working for 3 days on rectification of the consequences of oil pipe breakthrough. Oil spillage that happened on top of seasonal flood has led to environmental disaster, said RIA VladNews.

The area of spillage exceeds 10 hectares.

“Well, now we are not just flooded but flooded with oil. Now no swimming, no fishing, and nothing will grow on farms after yesterday’s pipe breakage”- wrote a local resident of Nefteyugansk Yevgeny Chernov in a social network.

The year 2015 is the year when residents of Nefteyugansk, Nizhnevartovsk and Surgut suffer from flooding, but the authorities of the Ugra Autonomous District do not take any action.

Residents of Nizhnevartovsk has addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin directly.

Message about a major ecological situation might not reach the Kremlin, because it affects the interests of the two senior officials – the president of the state oil company “Rosneft” Igor Sechin and Acting Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova.
