Auto parts manufacturers are stopping production in Russia

According to the data from Ministry of Economy published in “Kommersant” newspaper, 4 largest manufacturers of auto parts have stopped their work in Russia this year, and another 30 abandoned their plans to launch production in Russia.

The ministry did not specify the names of corporations but according to “Kommersant” one of them is the French company Faurecia, which produces seats and exhaust systems.

Producers said that the main reason is the fact that the state support applies only to auto makers, not parts makers.

Earlier it was reported that auto makers also reduce production in Russia. In March General Motors announced that they plan to cease production at the Opel factory in St. Petersburg.
