A part of an apartment building collapsed in Perm


A facade of a five-story residential building has collapsed in Perm at July 11. A corner of the building collapsed all the way from the fifth to the second floor. It was reported on Saturday July 11 by the Main division of EMERCOM of Russia in the Perm region.

The incident happened at 04:13 Moscow time. Search and rescue operation is performed by emergency services staff arrived at the scene. Kuibyshev Street, where the house is located, is closed. Ministry of Emergency Situations ask drivers to be understanding and not to interfere with the work of the rescuers.

38 pieces of equipment and 168 people are involved at the sceneю Rescue dogs and psychologists assisting residents are involved too.

Media reported that the cause of the collapse could have been an explosion (supposedly the residents heard the clap), but the Emergencies Ministry did not confirm this information.

At the time of the incident there were 60 people in the building, reports “Interfax” referring to the press service of the EMERCOM. Three residents were injured, one of them was hospitalized.

Currently, four other people might be under the rubble. The search continues.

Investigation Department of the Perm region filed a criminal case in accordance with article 238 of the Criminal Code for “provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.”
