Russia: “Aviadarts 2015” stopped after helicopter crash (video)

Pilots’ competition “Aviadarts-2015” taking place in Russia as a part the International Army Games was stopped after a Mi-28 helicopter crash near Dubrovich training site in Ryazan region. On Sunday, during demonstration flights of the aerobatic group “Berkut” one of the helicopters suddenly began to fall and hit the ground, catching fire.

The crew captain was killed, the co-pilot managed to eject and was taken to hospital. Currently he is in satisfactory condition. According to him, the accident occurred due the hydraulic system failure.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the danger to spectators during the airshow was not.

International Military Games started on August 1. Competitions include aviadarts and tank biathlon, and held in Russia for the third time.
