Lavrov: Russia is not going to war against Turkey


Russia is not going to war against Turkey, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in his interview to Russian and foreign media.

“We are not going to fight Turkey”, – he told reporters.

“Our attitude towards the Turkish people have not changed. However, we have questions regarding the actions of the current Turkish leadership,” – said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On Tuesday a Russian bomber Su-24 crashed in SyriaRussian President Vladimir Putin said that the plane was shot down by an “air-to-air” rocket by a Turkish fighter F-16 over the Syrian territory, and fell down in Syria in 4 kilometres from the border with Turkey. General Staff of the Russian Federation said that the Su-24 did not cross the border with Turkey, and this was confirmed by Syrian air defense. Turkey argues that the Russian aircraft has entered its airspace.
