An explosion occurred at a bus stop in Moscow


In Moscow, at the bus stop on Pokrovka Street an explosion occurred. According to the last data from the Department of Health of Moscow, 4 people were injured. Earlier reports were saying about 3 victims.

“According to the updated data, 4 people were injured as a result of the incident. Three of them were hospitalized in the Research Institute of Sklifosovsky,” – quotes “Interfax” the press service of the Department of Health.

Another victim was provided with aid at the scene. According to the source, no heavy wounds were observed.

Previously, referring to a source in the city emergency services, “Interfax” reported that two women 28 and 29 years old were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds of the legs. Another victim 42 years old received minor injuries, and refused hospitalization.

Earlier, the head of the press service of the capital Police Department Andrew Galiakberov reported that according to preliminary data the cause of the explosion could be a homemade firecracker, thrown from a passing vehicle, or from a window of a multi-story building. He added that a criminal case under the article “Hooliganism” was filed.

The source in the police said that according to preliminary data the power of the explosion was amounted to 50 g of TNT.

The incident occurred at the bus stop near the building number 19 on Pokrovka Street.

“Preliminarily, an unknown explosive device was thrown towards a group of people standing at the bus stop,” – said the source from law authorities to “RIA Novosti“.

According to the correspondent of RBC from the scene, police have fenced the area around the stop. There is about a dozen police vehicles at the scene, also security services, and fire trucks. The traffic is limited in the area of ​​the scene. At the bus stop where the explosion occurred one glass panel is smashed, another one is covered with cracks.
