Poroshenko offered Turkey to use Ukraine’s underground gas storage


During a meeting with the Prime Minister of TurkeyAhmet Davutoğlu, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko offered to use Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities. This was reported by the press service of the head of the state.

The parties have agreed on closer cooperation in matters of general participation in the development of energy infrastructure, and the implementation of international energy corridors.

Petro Poroshenko is in Turkey with an official visit on March 9-10.

In December last year, after the incident with the downed Turkish military Russian aircraft, the Kremlin announced the suspension of negotiations on the “Turkish Stream” pipeline, which was intended to supply Russian natural gas to south-eastern European countries via Turkey.
