Ukraine became Europe’s #1 country for IT outsourcing


Nearly 100,000 Ukrainian programmers are currently working in different companies. Demand for IT-staff continues to grow in the global market.

According to the portal IT Outsoursing News, despite the recent political turbulence, Ukrainian IT services and R&D sector is gaining momentum every year.

The country has the largest and fastest-growing number of IT specialists in Europe. It is expected that by the end of 2020 the number of specialists will exceed 200,000.

More than 100 of the world’s high-tech companies, including Cisco, Oracle, Rakuten, Samsung, conduct R&D activities in Ukraine. Also, many local IT-outsourcing companies serve customers around the world.


The export of Ukrainian software brought about $ 2.5 billion in 2015. Most services (about 80%) were provided to customers from the United States.

In addition, the US remains the largest partner of Ukraine on joint R&D activities (about 45% of the total). The EU and Israel come next.

The most popular place to open R&D center is Kiev, which has concentrated most of them. Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkov and Vinnitsa have also become attractive for such services.

Earlier it was reported that 10 Ukrainian companies got into the top of the best outsourcing companies in the world, 4 of which were actually founded in Ukraine.
