Azerbaijani ambassador: We are ready to solve the Karabakh problem by force

Nagorny Karabakh

Azerbaijani armed forces attacked towns and military units in the border territory of the unrecognized republic.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said on the radio station Govorit Moskva (“Moscow Speaking” – RRT) that Azerbaijan is ready to move from a diplomatic solution of the conflict with Armenia, to military.

“For 22 years we’ve been trying to find a peaceful solution to this conflict. Well, how much longer we have to wait? We are ready for a peaceful solution to the issue. But if it is not solved peacefully, then we will solve it by military means,” – he stressed.

Polad Bulbuloglu said that 21% of Azerbaijani territory is occupied by Armenian troops. According to him, the compromise offered by Azerbaijan was that the Armenian military were asked to leave the disputed territory. After that, the heads of republics will sit down at the negotiating table to discuss the coexistence of the two peoples on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“There are 4 UN Security Council resolutions, there is a decision of the General Conference of the United Nations, there are documents from PACE, and so on, and so on. Also, Minsk Group is working. There are concrete proposals for the withdrawal of the occupation forces,” – said the ambassador.

When he was asked if Turkey supported Azerbaijan in the military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Polad Bulbuloglu relpied: “It’s not important who will help who. You are looking for secondary issues. The main issue is occupation of Azerbaijani lands”.

Meanwhile, in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic it was reported about 200 Azerbaijani soldiers killed. The exact number of victims on the Armenian side the Ministry of Defense of the Republic promised to publish later.
