Armenia accuses Turkey of supporting Azerbaijan’s aggression

RIA Novosti reports that the Armenian Foreign Ministry has accused Turkey of supporting the aggressive actions of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh conflict.

Commenting on the reaction of Turkey to the worsening conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenian deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan pointed to the “racist statements” of Ankara.

“It is unfortunate that for Turkey the importance of human lives is determined by the nationality. With such racist statements, Turkey encourages the continuation of aggressor’s actions against the self-determined Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” – he said , and stressed that it fits into the policy of the Turkish authorities, which resulted in propagating the wave of “instability, terrorism and bloodshed”, both in Turkey and abroad.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would support Baku in the conflict with Armenia “till the very end”. He promised to “pray that Azerbaijani brothers won with minimal losses”.

The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh escalated on the night of April 2nd. Azerbaijan and Armenia have accused each other of violating the truce. As Ruposters wrote on Saturday, the armed forces of Azerbaijan managed to take control of several strategic points and settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh. They are taking steps to strengthen the new line of defense in these territories.
