More than 15 players of Russia’s junior hockey team were tested positive for meldonium


Canadian sports channel TSN learned some details about the situation with the change in the roaster of the junior national team of Russia on 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship.

More than half of 30 Russian players’ tests for meldonium were positive, says TSN, citing its own sources.

Recently, it became known that the Russian national U18 team was replaced with the U17 team, and the main reason for the replacement was a positive samples on meldonium. It is worth noting, that unlike in Russia and ex-USSR countries, meldonium is not in use in North America.

IIHF U18 Junior World Championship will begin on April 14 at Grand Forks, United States.
