Russian combat helicopter Mi-28N crashed in Syria


Russian combat helicopter Mi-28N “Night Hunter” crashed near the Syrian city of Homs.

This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry. Two crew members were killed.

According to the Ministry, the helicopter was not shot down. It crashed near the city of Homs at 01:29 MSK on April 12.

“According to the report from the crash site, there was not fire impact on the helicopter,” – the Ministry of Defense said.

The Ministry added that as a result of the search and rescue operations, the bodies of pilots were evacuated, and currently they are located at the Hmeymim air base.

“A group of experts is working at the crash site of the helicopter to investigate the causes of the flight accident,” – was reported in the military.
