12 European countries called on immediate visa-free regime with Ukraine

During the meeting in Latvia, foreign ministers of 12 European countries urged to immediately introduce visa-free regime with Ukraine and Georgia.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

“Regarding mobility, Ministers noted the need to immediately grant visa-free regime to Georgia and Ukraine,” – said in a statement.

In addition, it was reported that Ministers of Foreign Affairs confirmed the priority of the Eastern Partnership policy. They also reaffirmed their readiness to support the implementation of association with Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.

The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. The meeting was devoted to the issues of security, energy cooperation, the Eastern Partnership, and other European issues.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine might get a visa-free regime with the EU in winter of 2017.
