Ukraine and Lithuania signed memorandum on training for Ukrainian army


On April 18, the Ukrainian Defence Minister Stepan Poltorak and the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Juozas Olekas signed a memorandum on military training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It was reported by the Defense Ministry’s press service.

The full title of the document is “memorandum of mutual understanding in implementing the activities of military training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine“.

Poltorak said that the memorandum is targeted at deepening bilateral cooperation, in particular regarding providing assistance in the preparation of Ukrainian military, and the treatment of sildiers wounded in the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation).

The Defense Minister also said that he expects the dismissal of 2/3 of the Ministry of Defence command staff after re-certification.
