Death rate in Crimea won’t go down


According to Krymstat (Crimean Statistics agency – RRT), 7630 people died in the first quarter of 2016 in the Crimea.

This is slightly (by 167 persons) less than in the same period of 2015, but the mortality rate remains very high: 16.1 per thousand population. The average mortality rate in Russia in 2015 was 14 persons per thousand.

The average death rate in the world is estimated at 8.6 deaths per thousand. The lowest is in Qatar, UAE and Kuwait (1.5 – 2), Australia’s index is 7.1, in the United States and Norway – 8.1, in France – 9.2, in Germany – 11.4.

During the first quarter of 2016, in the Crimea 5460 children were born, which is 25 kids more than for the same period of 2015. The birth rate (per thousand population) was 11.5, which is lower than the average for Russia, which is 13.1.

The natural loss of the population of Crimea for the quarter amounted to 2170 people.
