“Normandy format” approved launching OSCE police mission in Donbas


On May 24, the leaders of the “Normandy format” agreed on the deployment of OSCE police mission in the Donbas. Parties are planning to start consultations on this matter shortly.

“The leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia have expressed their support for the deployment of the OSCE police mission in Donbas, and for the beginning of consultations on the matter. During the call, it was also noted that full implementation of the Minsk agreements is essential, including ensuring the security for the local elections in certain regions of Luhansk and Donetsk regions in accordance with Ukrainian law, and rules of the OSCE‘s Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights,” the press service of the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated.
