Turkey stopped exports of lemons and bananas to Russia

These types of products do not fall under the Russian food embargo, and not prohibited for import into the Russian Federation.

Besides bananas and lemons, Turkish companies stopped supplying limes, beans, nuts, potatoes, and many other produce to Russia.

In April, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkey tried to negotiate the withdrawal of the ban on the supply of Turkish pomegranates, peppers, lettuce and eggplants to Russia. At that time Russia demanded irrefutable evidence of controlling quarantine pests, including the Mediterranean fruit fly, Californian thrips and others, and in return it promised to ease the embargo on groceries.

Turkey did not provide documents, and in turn, refused to supply other types of production without waiting for the ban.
