Gas terminal Swinoujscie in Poland started receiving commercial gas delivery

The terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Polish city of Świnoujście started receiving commercial gas supplies on June 17.

According to Radio Polsha, the first LNG cargo will be delivered from Qatar.

The personnel who will deal with the first commercial delivery went through special training.

After the so-called regasification, about 1.3 million cubic metres of natural gas will be received, and then sent to the consumer through a network of gas pipelines. The entire process may take about a day.

At this point the terminal has regasification capacity at 5 billion cubic meters, which is 1/3 of the volume Poland needs.

LNG port in Świnoujście is the first investment of this kind in Central and Eastern Europe.
