MiG-21 crashed in west Syria


MiG-21 of the Syrian Air Force crashed in the province of Hama in the west of the country, the crew died.

“MiG-21 fell on a Sunday in the Hama airport due to technical reasons, the crew members were killed,” the source said.

It was not specified when exactly the crash occurred.

In mid-March, another Syrian MiG-21 was shot down in Hama province. One of the crew members survived, the other died.

MiG-21 is a Soviet supersonic lightweight tactical fighter of 3rd generation, developed in mid-50s. By present, various modifications of the aircraft are in service in a number of European, African and Asian countries.
