Amazon cloud service was blocked in Russia

Roskomnadzor blocked the cloud service Amazon S3, where data of NetFlix, Airbnb, Twitter, Dropbox, and other sites is stored.

The information about blocking appeared in the corresponding registry on June 21.

Roskomnadzor spokesman Vadim Ampelonsky explained the blocking of the service that it contained advertising of poker room “888poker”, and a link to download online poker games.

Earlier, the Federal Tax Service sent a notice to Amazon that the service can be blocked, but there was no answer.

At the end of 2015 Russia made amendments to the Federal Law #244 “On state regulation of activities for gambling organizing”, which allow the Federal Tax Service to find sites with illegal gambling and to provide information about them to the Roskomnadzor.
