USA submitted 14 counter-battery radar systems to Ukraine


The official ceremony took place at the international airport Borispol with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

AN/TPQ-36 Firefinder system is used to determine the positions of mortars, artillery guns, and multiple rocket launchers of the enemy at a range from 14.5 to 24 kilometres, and can simultaneously detect and track up to 99 rockets and projectiles in the air.

AN/TPQ-49 system can determine the position of mortars of the enemy at a distance of 10 km, and can simultaneously detect and track up to 10 rounds in the air; in addition, it can determine the firing location of missile and artillery systems in the range from 50 metres to 10 kilometres.


Systems that were stored in the U.S. have been transferred to Ukraine for free, and will be sent to the area of ​​anti-terrorist operation (ATO).
