Iran ousted Russia from Polish oil market

Oil trader Mercuria, which formerly was the largest supplier of Russian oil to the Polish market, will now work with Iran.

250 thousand tons of Russian oil became unclaimed, and now will be sent to Asia by tanker Atlantas. The same tanker will return to Gdansk (Poland) with 2 million barrels of Iranian oil. The contract with the Iranian side was signed by the company Lotos, which is awaiting the arrival of the purchased “black gold” in the middle of August.

Russian oil Urals began to lose positions on the Polish market since 2015, when, after lifting sanctions from Iran, oil supplies from the Middle East increased.
