Swimmer Yefimova: I will return to USA, life is easier there

3-time Olympic medalist in swimming Russian Julia Yefimova, who also won 2 silver medals at the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, plans to return to the United States.

“Life in the U.S. is much easier than in Russia. Everyone smiles. America changes people, and it has changed me,” said the Russian athlete in an interview with CNN.

She also commented on the words in her address said by swimmer Lily King. According to Yefimova, King is “too young”, and “does not know that sometimes it happens, when you want to do the right thing.”

Russian swimmer Yulia Yefimova was previously trained by American specialist David Salo, but left the group when coaches decided not to take athletes from other countries with doping history in the training group. After Yefimova faced hostile attitude from a part of American swimmers, she said she did not know where she will be training after the Games in Brazil.
