Military equipment is sent to Georgia for Agile Spirit 2016 war games


Multinational military training of NATO will be held at two training sites in Georgia in September.

As it was reported by U.S. Marine Corps website, tanks, jeeps, Marine vehicles, and artillery guns went from the Bulgarian village of Novo Selo towards Georgia to participate in the multinational training Agile Spirit 2016.

The multinational NATO exercise Agile Spirit 2016 will be held in September at the sites of Vaziani (near Tbilisi) and Orpolo (Samtskhe-Javakheti). They will be attended by the military from Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Bulgaria, Romania, and Latvia. The exact date of the exercise will be known later.

U.S. Marines and the military equipment will be delivered from Novo Selo to one of the Bulgarian ports by railroad, then loaded on the ferry, and then it will go across the Black Sea to Georgia.

Multinational exercises Agile Spirit are focused on enhancing combat capabilities of military personnel of NATO member states and partners.

The exercises Agile Spirit are held annually since 2011. Last year they took place in July at the Vaziani training ground.
