The capital of Ukraine, Kiev will receive the final game of the UEFA Champions League in 2018.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote that on his Facebook page:
“UEFA just decided to hold the final game of Champions League 2018 in Kiev. This is great news for all of us, and especially for Ukrainian fans. I am sure it will be held at the highest level,” said Poroshenko.
The venue where the Champions League finals take place are determined by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) based on applications filed by applicant cities 2 years prior to the event.
In 2008, the Champions League final was held in Moscow at stadium Luzhniki. In 2017, the final will be held in the capital city of Wales, Cardiff.
