The further respect for truce by Syrian army is meaningless because of the continued firing by the militants. This was told on Monday, September 19, by the head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff Sergei Rudskoy.
“Given that the cessation of hostilities is not obeyed by militants, we believe its abidance by Syrian government forces is meaningless,” said Rudskoy.
Earlier, he said that the demarcation between the moderate opposition and Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria did not happen. Moreover, the opposition fighters began to unite with militants and terrorist groups to prepare a new offensive.
The ceasefire in Syria has been reached on September 9 during the negotiations held in Geneva by foreign ministers the U.S. and Russia, John Kerry and Sergei Lavrov. The document includes a requirement for a ceasefire and ensuring the coordination of operations between the Russian and the U.S. military in Syria.
