Russia must officially acknowledge its involvement in the crash of the flight MH17 that was shot down in the skies over the Donbas in July 2014.
Such a statement was made by former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, reports Ukrinform with reference to Australian media.
“I think the sooner Russia owns up to its role in all of this, and does what it can to offer restitution to the families of the victims, the better,” he said.
It was also noted that even though the former prime minister does not blame Russian President Vladimir Putin personally, he said that the leader has a great responsibility.
Also, Abbott rejected the Russian version that flight MH17 was allegedly shot down by a missile fired from outside the territory, controlled by pro-Russian terrorists. According to him, the Russians would say anything, but the evidence shows that the Russian missile system crossed the border, entered Ukraine, shot down the plane, and returned back to Russia.
