Activist was fined for reading Constitution out loud


On September 23, Tverskoy District Court of Moscow found Victor Kapitonov guilty of repeated violation of the organization of public events.

This was told on the phone by his lawyer, Oleg Beznisko. The activist was fined 250,000 rubles (approx. $4,000 – RRT).

On September 12, several activists were detained for reading the Constitution of the Russian Federation near the building of the State Duma (the lower chamber of the Russian parliament – RRT). Victor Kapitonov was among them.
