Turkey urged to create safe zones in Syria and accused Russia of bloodshed

A spokesman for Turkish President, Ibrahim Kalin said that millions of people will be saved if safety zones are introduced in Syria.

“If the five years of merciless war in Syria taught us something, it is that the zones of safety are the only way to stop mass killings, the destruction of cities, and the flow of thousands of migrants in Turkey and other countries,” quotes his words newspaper Daily Sabah.

But instead of going that direction, the international community is inactive, said Kalin.

“On September 25 alone, 60 people were killed in Aleppo, most of them were women and children… Bashar al-Assad regime set out to destroy most of the city and its inhabitants, whereas Aleppo is one of the strongholds of the opposition,” said the president’s spokesman.

According to him, the Syrian authorities “every time use the ceasefire to their advantage, to gain time, and to continue the violence.”

Meanwhile, Russia, with the support of Iran and Hezbollah, “exposes Aleppo to daily bombings, including the use of barrel bombs,” says Kalin.
