UN might restrict veto power for aggressor countries

According to Associated Press, this was stated by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein.

He also explained that such a decision should be made to prevent serious crimes.

According to the High Commissioner, the veto power should be restricted when dealing with war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

He also drew attention to the fact that the air strikes in the last 10 days on the Syrian Aleppo were “the most intense” since 2011.

Earlier, the chairman of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations Vladimir Yelchenko said that depriving Russia of the veto power in the UN Security Council depends on the other four permanent members of the Security Council.

It should also be noted that on September 25, at the UN meeting on Syria, Western countries accused Russia of barbarism.
