Russian citizen suspected in cyber-attacks on USA was arrested in Prague


As reported by the website of Czech police, a Russian citizen was arrested in one of the hotels in Prague. He lost conscious during the arrest, and was hospitalized.

It was reported that the operation was conducted together with the FBI. The arrest was sanctioned by the Prague City Court.

The name of the Russian was not disclosed, but it is known that he is wanted by Interpol.

The matter of his extradition to the United States will be decided by Czech court.

On October 7, the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama officially accused Russia of carrying out a large-scale campaign to intervene in the elections of the President of the United States, including computer hacking of the U.S. National Committee of the Democratic Party, and other politicians.

Later, U.S. presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the presidential debate said that Russia used hackers to break into the U.S. Democratic party servers.
