Investigative Committee asked Ministry of Health report on teens who had sex before age of 16

Russian Investigative Committee has asked the Ministry of Health to oblige doctors to report to investigators about teens who have had sex before the age of 16.

As stated in the IC, it will help investigate more crimes under article 134 of the Criminal Code “Sexual intercourse and other sexual acts with a person under sixteen years of age”.

“Not everyone knows about the existence of such a criminal prohibition. The girls hide such facts due to natural shyness, or at the instigation of relatives and friends, for fear of bad publicity, or possible actions from the person committing such a crime,” said IC representative Eugene Minaev.

The Health Ministry said that thay have not received a letter from the IC so far.
