Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that Ukraine does not plan to carry out missile tests over Russian territory in the Kerch Strait.
“Russia’s hysteria that Ukraine violates international agreements by firing missile tests in sovereign air space of the Russian Federation has no sense,” said Turchynov.
He reminded that according to international agreements, the sovereign airspace of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea ends in the middle of the Kerch Strait, and Ukraine is not planning to carry out missile tests in that area.
“The rest of the area to the west from the Kerch Strait is the sovereign airspace of Ukraine,” the secretary of the National Security Council said.
He added that Ukraine carries out missile tests in full accordance with international commitments and agreements.
“That’s why we ask the Russian Federation not to interfere with our testing with their hysterics and provocations”, concluded Turchynov, commenting on the statement of the Federal Agency of Air Transport of the Russian Federation about violating of Russian airspace by Ukraine during missile tests.
