Russia lost another fighter during landing at Admiral Kuznetsov air carrier

Russian fighter Su-33 crashed on December 3 in the Mediterranean Sea during the landing on the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, said the Russian Defense Ministry.

As it was explained in the Ministry, the cause of the crash was a broken wire rope: the plane skidded off the deck, the pilot ejected.

“After performing a combat mission in the skies of Syria, during landing on aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, a Su-33 fighter skidded off the deck due to a failure of a wire rope of arresting gear. The pilot ejected, and was rescued immediately. The health of the pilot is not in danger,” said in the Russian Defense ministry.

This is the second incident with the air wing of “Admiral Kuznetsov”.

On November 14, a MiG-29 fighter crashed during landing a few kilometers away from the “Admiral Kuznetsov”, the pilot ejected.
