The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) decided to move the 2017 World Championship from Sochi to another location. It was reported by the press service of the organization.

“The IBSF decided to move the IBSF World Championships 2017 from Sochi, Russia, to another location which will be determined in the coming days,” said in a statement.

Earlier it became known that Austrian athletes could boycott the IBSF World Championship in Sochi because of the doping scandal in the Russian sport. It was told by the head of the Austrian Federation, Roman Shobesberger, quoted by Tiroler Togeszeitung.

Last Friday, the second part of the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) under the direction of Richard McLaren was published, in which Russia is accused of supporting the use of doping at the state level.
