Federation Council senator Aleksei Pushkov believes that after the murder of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov, the presence of Russian diplomats and journalists in Turkey needs to be limited.
“What we really need to do is to focus on ensuring the safety of Russian diplomats and their families in the territory of Turkey, as well as Russian journalists. It may also be worthwhile to limit their presence in this extremely painful, unhealthy, stressful environment, prone to murder,” Pushkov said.
He also considers it necessary to think about the safety of Russian tourists in Turkey.
According to him, after the incident Russia “certainly must take very serious measures, but they must be proportionate.”
Earlier it was reported that the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case in connection with the murder of Ambassador to Turkey.
