Russia asks Ukraine to provide a rocket for launching a satellite

Russian Rocket and Space Corporation Energia negotiates with Ukrainian Yuzhnoye Desidn Office on launching Angosat-1 satellite for Angola using an Ukrainian rocket.

Russia plans to launch Angosat-1 satellite for Angola, but Russian carrier rockets are not suitable for this case. There is one Ukrainian rocket Zenith stored at the Baikonur cosmodrome, purchased before the Russian-Ukraininan conflict. At the moment, its operating warranty period has ended, and can’t be prolonged without the participation of engineers from Yuzhmash Spacecraft Company.

Launching Angosat-1 from Baikonur is scheduled for July 15 in the coming year.
