Court in Vladivostok ruled to destroy the Bible and the Gospel in the Synodal Translation, says Credo.Ru referencing a representative of the organization Salvation Army.
According to Credo.Ru, the reasoning part of the judgment referred to the law on countering terrorism.
According to the case, in November Salvation Army was audited by the prosecutor’s office. It found literature “without markings of a religious organization”.
Salvation Army was ordered to pay a fine of 30,000 rubles (approx. $500 – RRT), and destroy the books.
Amendments to anti-terror laws were adopted last summer as part of the so-called “Yarovaya law“. They prohibit religious organizations from publishing materials without proper labeling.
