FIFA will introduce sanctions if cases of doping use in Russia are proven

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that the organization is ready to apply the necessary sanctions if doping cases in Russian football are proven.

He made such a statement after the report of WADA Independent Commission, headed by Richard McLaren.

“If cases of doping were hidden and I have the proof then FIFA and Union of European football associations (UEFA) will take all necessary measures and impose sanctions.

Do I trust still Vitaly Mutko? He is a council member and of course we are working together,” said Infantino.

In McLaren’s report it is stated that more than 1,000 Russian athletes were involved in manipulating doping samples at different tournaments.
