Russian Consul in Greece found dead in Athens


The Russian embassy confirmed the death of Russian Consul in Greece Andrei Malanin.

According to Greek media Proto Thema, the consul was found dead in his apartment in the center of Athens. The diplomat did not come to work that morning and did not respond to phone calls. His colleagues arrived to his house and together with the police opened the door, which was closed from the inside.

As TASS agency was told in the embassy, ​​the death was due to natural causes.

Andrew Malanin was the head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Greece.
