Russian government introduces tax on picking berries and mushrooms

Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev supported the initiative of Governor of Vladimir Region Svetlana Orlova that every picked nut, berry, or mushroom should contribute to the local budget.

This “reliable financial source” was found in order to compensate losses to the budget, caused by falling oil revenues.

Presumably, the price for the season license will be 4,500 rubles ($75 – RRT) for picking berries, and 6,000 rubles ($100 – RRT) for picking mushrooms.
