Russian Ambassador to India Alexander Kadakin died of sickness in New Delhi at the age of 67.
“Since November 2009 he worked as the head of the Russian diplomatic mission. His entire diplomatic career since 1971 has been closely linked with the development of Russian-Indian relations,” told in the embassy.
Together with other Ingologists, Kadakin actively worked to achieve the current high level of the strategic partnership between Russia and India.
From 1992 to 1997 he was the Russian ambassador in Nepal. Two years later he had his first assignment as head of the Russian diplomatic mission in India. From 2005 to 2009 was the Russian ambassador in Sweden. In October 2009 he was appointed the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in India again.
