Trump’s immigration decree hardened process of issuing visas for Russians

The scandalous decree on migrants that Donald Trump signed despite the public opinion caused serious criticism. The decree restricts the entry of citizens of seven Arab countries.

This way Trump decided to fight terrorism. However, Americans actively protest against it, and movie stars and musicians ridicule and criticize Trump at all sorts of social events.

It turned out that the decree also affects Russians. In particular, Trump canceled The Visa Interview Waiver Program, which was agreed upon in 2012.

This agreement allowed issuing subsequent visas to Russian citizens without an interview if the previous visa had expired less than 48 months ago.

The decree reduced this period to 12 months.
