Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) informed the athletes that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) did not allow them to participate in qualifiers for the Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018.
“The RPC received a response from the IPC signed by President Philip Craven to the request of the RPC to allow Russian Paralympic athletes to participate in international competitions qualifying for the Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang 2018 with certain guarantees from our side.
In response, Mr. Craven said that the RPC’s request was presented to the members of the Executive Committee of the IPC. The Board reviewed and discussed it on January 29, and decided to reject RPC’s proposals,” said the press-service of the Russian Committee.
RPC said that athletes will continue their training for the Games despite the suspension.
