American surveillance drone Global Hawk went on recon mission in Donbass

Strategic UAV of U.S. Air Force RQ-4A Global Hawk with the call sign UAVGH000 performed a nearly 10-hour reconnaissance flight along the line dividing the sides in the Donbass last Sunday.

This was reported by Western news portals that track the movement of military aircraft.

The American drone took off from Sigonella air base in Sicily. It entered the airspace of Ukraine from Romania to the north of Moldova and continued its flight to the east over Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions all the way to the Donetsk region. The transponder of the drone was turned on.

During the flight the UAV shuttled for hours from north to south along the line of demarcation between Ukraine and the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, but did not cross it. The flight was at an altitude of 15.5 thousand metres.

UAVs of this class are able to stay aloft for up to 30 hours at an altitude of 15-18 thousand meters. Considering its reconnaissance capabilities to a depth of 300 kilometres, Global Hawk can monitor the entire territory of DPR and LPR, as well as the border regions of Russia.
