Russian court banned Spanish website selling jamon because of ‘threat to constitutional order of Russia’

A Spanish website selling jamon was included into the registry of banned information by the decision of the Ulyanovsk district court of Ulyanovsk region.

As it was explained, the access to the website was limited in accordance with Article 9 of the Federal Law 149-FZ. During the audit, the prosecutor of the Ulyanovsk district discovered that the Russians visit the website often, and some of them buy jamon in the online store. After considering the lawsuit filed by the district court prosecutor, judge Elmira Kasymova confirmed that “the information contained on the website at jamonshop.esr is forbidden for distribution in the territory of the Russian Federation.”

After that Roskomnadzor (Russian controlling service over telecommunications – RRT) added the website to the register of banned information “… in order to protect the constitutional order, morality, health, rights and lawful interests of other individuals, national defense, and state security.”
