Turkish General Staff about airstrike that killed Turkish soldiers: Russians knew location of our military


The Turkish General Staff said that it provided the Russian side with coordinates of the location of Turkish military, which were later killed by Russian air strike.

According to the message, the Turkish military were located at that point for about 10 days before the air strike.

“After a missile was fired on February 8 from the territory controlled by Russian troops in Syria at the object controlled by forces that are friendly to Turkish military, Russia was provided with the coordinates of the Turkish military position once again. The information was delivered to the operations center at the airbase Hmeymim in the evening of the same day, namely at 23:11 on February 8th,” said the Turkish General Staff.

On February 9th Russia launched a missile attack on the Turkish military in the territory of Syria. As a result of the attack 3 soldiers were killed and 11 wounded.

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that the airstrike at the Turkish military in the Syrian province of Aleppo was unintentional.
