Turkey bans its ships from visiting occupied Crimea

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during his visit to Turkey, the press service of the Ukrainian government reports.

“Today, on the day of the visit (March 14th – RRT), we received a note on the prohibition of any Turkish vessels to visit the occupied Crimea, which is a very strong signal,” the head of government stressed.

In turn, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim assured that Turkey supports Ukraine by condemning Russia’s annexation of the Crimea and supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Last week it became known that Turkey stopped accepting ships from the Crimea. Even Turkish ferries that have come from Sevastopol are not allowed to moor. The media report that the sea trade between the Crimea and Turkey has stopped.

Also, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan repeatedly stated that Ankara’s position on the status of the Crimea as Ukrainian territory remains unchanged.
