US Senate: Russia interferes in elections in Germany and France

According to deputy head of the US Senate Committee on Intelligence Mark Warner, Russia is trying to influence the course of the elections in France and Germany the way it did in the USA.

“We know about Russia’s interference, and currently they are doing the same in France and Germany,” Warner said.

According to him, the Russia massively interfered in the elections in the U.S. using hacker attacks and thousands of paid Internet ‘trolls’.

Warner said that this week the Senate Intelligence Committee will hold its first public hearing on Russia’s influence on the election, and possible ties between the Russian Federation and U.S. President Donald Trump.

He added that currently this case has “more smoke than fire”, but the situation should clear up soon.
