China also welcomes the decision of the European Union to liberalize the visa regime with Ukraine.

The Chinese government has expressed its readiness to introduce a visa-free regime with Ukraine, based on the willingness of both countries to do so.

It was announced by Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei at a press conference on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and China.

“The Chinese side is ready at any time in accordance with the desire of the two sides, on the principle of equality and mutual benefit, to take new measures for the human exchange between our countries, including a visa-free regime,” the diplomat said.

Du Wei also noted that the Chinese side welcomes the decision of the European Union to liberalize the visa regime with Ukraine.

The European Parliament made its decision on April 6th, granting a visa-free regime for Ukraine. The new rules for travel come into power starting from June 11th. However, there is also a number of steps that need to be taken in order to finish the process of liberalization.
